Cool Card

Today, I watched Diane make me (I helped very little) this cool sliding card. It slides open both ways at the same time. It is awesome. Everyone expect one. Directions are below. If you want me to email them I can do that too.

Slider Card
(Alias: The Push-Pull Card)
Supplies
Adhesive
Sticky Tape
Stamps
Scissors
Paper cutter w/ scoring blade
Inks
Corner rounder punch (Optional)
Circle punch (1 1/4" or 1 3/8")
Square punch(1 1/4" or 1 3/8")
Strip of plastic shopping bag about 1" wide and 11" long
One 5 1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock for slider frame
Two 3 1/2" x 4" pieces of cardstock for slider pieces
Assorted Cardstock to decorate the card front

Step-by-Step
Step 1 Score 5 1/4" x 11" piece of cardstock at 2 1/2", 6 1/2" and 10 1/2".

Step 2 Slide square punch about 1/2" into the middle of the 2 1/2" portion of the cardstock. Center and punch to create a small notch.

Step 3 Repeat on the other side of the 2 1/2" section. This is the slider frame.

Step 4 Wrap plastic bag strip around slider frame.

Step 5 Add Sticky Tape to one end of the strip.

Step 6 Press opposite end of plastic bag strip on top of the exposed stickiness of Sticky Tape to create a free-sliding loop around the slider frame. Trim excess plastic.

Step 7 Slide circle punch about 1/4" into the middle of the 4" portion of the cardstock that is next to the slider frame.Center the punch and punch to create a semi-circular notch. This will be your card front.

Step 8 Decorate your card front and slider pieces. Optional: Round two corners of narrow end of each slider piece.

Step 9 Line up one of the slider pieces with one end of the semi-circular notched section next to the slider frame. Center it, making sure the stamped side is facing down.

Step 10 Add a strip of double sided tape on the plastic bag strip where the end of the slider piece will be. This is important as the tape will stop the slider piece. You want it as far down on the plastic strip as you can.Press the slider frame down on your slider piece to make it stick to the tape.

Step 11
Fold slider frame on top of your first slider part keeping that slider piece lined up with the notched edge.
Making sure the stamped side is facing down, on top of the slider frame line up the second slider piece with the other side of the slider frame, making sure it's aligned/centered with the first slider piece.Add tape as far down on the plastic strip as you can to get it at the end of the slider piece and tape it down on the back side of the second slider piece.

Step 12 Fold the card and add tape all over the 1/2" flap.

Step 13 Adhere folded flap around slider piece to adhere to slider base.

Step 14 Pull on the slider at the semi-circular notch. Both slider pieces will come out. Magic!!!

Variations
Play with the size Make a larger version of the slider card and add photos to slider pieces for a mini scrapbook.

Cool Cricut Paper Piecing

Flounder and Ariel

Santa brought me a couple of new Cricut Cartridges. I made Aurora. I don't like the way she turned out. Then I went BIGGER and made this Dopey. I love him. Now I need more paper, more mats!! More patience to paper piece.
